Small Business Support
Running a small business means juggling many responsibilities
Without the right level of support, health and safety can become one of the more challenging. The legislation is extensive. It changes often and every employer, no matter how small, has a legal duty to have access to competent health and safety advice. Quadriga fulfils that role for SMEs across the UK, providing clear, proportionate and reliable support that keeps businesses compliant and protected.
Competent, Practical Advice for your Business
For smaller organisations (typically with fewer than 250 employees), we can act as the legally required competent source of health and safety advice. Our team offers guidance that is relevant to your operation, taking into account the size, complexity and risks within your business. We never offer ‘off-the-shelf’ solutions. Instead, we make sure our advice, documents and recommendations genuinely fit the way you work.
Our support typically includes:
- Developing and reviewing health and safety policies
- Producing risk assessments and fire risk assessments
- Advising on employee training, equipment, systems of work and general compliance
- Supporting you during inspections or enforcing-authority visits
- Providing guidance on changes in legislation that apply to your business
- Helping with accident and incident investigations.
We also offer director briefings and employee training. These can be delivered in-house and priced separately. They cover topics such as fire procedures, safe working practices and the responsibilities placed on employers.
Ongoing Retained Support
Many of our small business clients choose to work with us on a retained basis. This gives them ongoing access to expert advice throughout the year, including telephone and emergency support when something unexpected happens.
We begin with an initial review to understand your current position and identify any gaps. From there, we agree a level of support that reflects the needs of your organisation. For most businesses, this ranges from 2 to 10 days per year, rising to 12–15 days only for slightly larger or more complex operations.
Our involvement is proactive. We don’t wait for you to contact us. We schedule visits, audits, policy reviews and action plans to ensure your business remains compliant and up to date. You’ll also receive our briefings on legislative changes, helping you understand what’s required and how to respond.
Why Small Businesses Choose Quadriga
Our clients stay with us because we take the time to understand how their business works. We bring the reassurance of experienced, knowledgeable specialists who provide advice you can act on with confidence. With our support in place, you can focus on running and growing your business, knowing you have the advice and support to properly manage your health and safety responsibilities.
